When I first heard it back then in 1990, I thought "F****! These guys just sampled two tracks and layered them!" It was of course "Planet Claire" from B 52, layered over the breakbeat intro of Bizarre Inc's "Playing With Knives", plus some various samples now and then. But there was also this relentless hard synth line, there was those variations, there was this superb bassline, and there was... Well, it was so sincere that it still work wonderfully! You may call it an illegal remix of the classic from B 52, but it is such a great example of techno-house in action : simply call it a classic!

Once, I e-mailed Erik Rug to have more infos on this mysterious release from him on this very mysterious RAPINA label. Here is what he answered : "It was a track inspired by B52s (planet claire) & Bizarre INC (playing with knives). Back then, the track was also illegally re-released on a bootleg label called RAVE Records, the Ep is called DATA BASE VOL.1 and they renammed my track : Planet B52."
