3 Doors Down had already drawn attention to themselves and started gaining chart succes with their debut single Kyptonite released prior to the album. The airplay that Kryptonite received definitely helped in getting their debut release, The Better Life, known to the public. And they didn’t dissapoint. The Better Life is a solid and promising debut from this upcoming new band. The quality of the songs may not be consistent throughout the entire album but there are enough good tracks that it doesn’t bother that much. All things considered The Better Life is a strong album from a band which has potential to still be around for the years to come. I don’t think that they will reach a status that would count them among the greatest rock bands in the world. There style of music is a but to standard for that. But being accessible enough for radio and reach the masses on one hand and on the other have power enough to appeal to rock fans at a festival, 3 Doors Down has the potential to build a descend fanbase. Depending on what they’re future releases will bring offcourse. But for now they can lean on a strong debut. The Better Life is a great album which has some really good songs on it and over after playing it a couple of times still remains entertaining.
