4 Hero - Golden Age (Remixes) FLAC album

Oh my gosh what a slab of wax! With this release you need to own both the original AND THE remixes! The drum programming on both remixes of Students Of The Future is top notch, all the nice little snippets from the movie Lawnmower Man and the 70's Nostradamus documentary narrated by Orson Wells- classic classic stuff by 4 Hero!

Golden age is a homage to Detroit Techno. Mutual respect grew between these 2 camps in the early 90's. That D.I.Y punk ethic & street savy they both shared. (Check the run-out grooves respect list on earlier Reinforced) Both UNDERGROUND RESISTANCE & 4 HERO got on that SUN RA black futurism trip. The resulting music being sometimes dark, twisted, futuristic but SOULFUL! For me GOLDEN AGE is one of those little gemns hidden away in many a junglist's record collection. Probably never played by 99% of those who, at the time bought it. This track is one of my favourite techno tracks ever & even stands up well against seminal tracks like JUPITER JAZZ(U.R). A must have......

I couldn't agree more...with early Reinforced re-released recently, I was disappointed that this didn't make it to a digital reevaluation. I have a question that hopefully you can answer. I do have the original vinyl 12" but there's confusion for me regarding the term "remixes". is RIVET 1250R different than RIVET 1250? and, if so, who did the remixes and are they any good? was either version released on cd? I wish that Tek 9 and Jacob's Optical Stairway were creative ventures that 4 Hero would continue to explore..but, alas, they seem to have loss their creative vision of the future and now wallow in the past
