Lonesome Orange Kid
Thomas Heckmann is simply a Techno/Acid genius. One of the relative few who can navigate the small but significant gap between deep, underground and GROOVY Techno vs. cheesy Trance. No offense to Trance lovers, I'm not bashing it as an entire genre (would never do this) but imho much of it boasts fancy arpeggios and nice melodies while lacking good old hardcore swing. If you like his AGE material, don't miss Mr. Heckmann's releases under his own name on Labworks Germany - the Spectral Emotions series are a fine example of dark warehouse 2:00 a.m. acid workouts. Fast BPM's to be sure, but his programming does as much for the feet as it does for the cerebrum.

Excellent four track acid techno EP. Styles range from hard and mad to chilled via the more housey, though still hard and fast Limbo. The title track's intro is a sample of the lift leading down to the Krell Memorybanks in the film Forbidden Planet.
