Notes
Anthony Hopkins' "shy" foray into composing the film score for "August"; a film he also directed."I was asked to write the music for the film and was a bit 'shy fit' but George Fenton encouraged me to go ahead and said that he would me with all the orchestration etc. So I watched the edited version of the film from beginning to end and just recorded my early childhood impressions of Wales: themes that had been floating around my brain for many years seemed to come to the surface": Anthony Hopkins (from the sleeve notes)
A wonderfully warm and evocative score: lush chamber strings, harmonica and solo piano.
