Between 1989 and 1996, possibly the ultimate pop cult band ever, ArmyOf Lovers, came, saw and conquered the world. This ultra-camp family of glamorous freaks, proudly displaying their strangely postmodern twist of 18th century baroque, syphilis-infected, aristocratic madness, topped the charts in dozens of counties, sold millions of records, shocked popes and parents, and toured every continent on the planet, in proud defiance of their self-proclaimed but never actually proven lack of singing voices and instrumental capabilities.

What Army Of Lovers claimed to lack in traditional musical talent, they easily made up for in hi-tech-literate computer wizardry, and highly original visual charisma, never seen neither before nor after in the history of pop music. After all, this is the band which conducted an entire world tour performing even the chats between songs in playback, miming their cues through golden toilet brushes.

While redefining every aspect of camp culture ever invented, the videos of Army Of Lovers show a rare coherence in style among music videos, thanks largely to the meticulous work of director Fredrik Boklund and court stylist Camilla Thulin.
