OK, so it's tough to "out do" an album like "Disintegration". It was the pinnacle of The Cure for all fans alike.

So when "Wish" came out I was surprised to hear how great a follow-up this turned out.

It's full of both soft, melancholic melodies/lyrics and some seriously hard rockin' jams. "Open" just does that - it opens a new chapter in The Cure legacy and it makes no excuses with it's vibrant rip roarin' riffs and drumming. The album's "End" just does the same at ends it with the same ferocious energy.

In between we have some super sweet gems like the irresistibly sweet tunes like "Friday I'm In Love" and "High" which were the catchy tracks for single releases of the album and "Letters To Elise".

Just from the start you can hear that a lot of great production and effort was involved. Then we have the melancholic tracks like "Apart", "Trust" and "From The Edge Of The Deep Green Sea" which are trademark Robert Smith. A touch sappy but poignant and lush none the less.

It's a great album and, unfortunately as of 2010, the last great album from The Cure. Maybe something better will top it soon... Maybe...
