Devilfish - Manalive.2008 FLAC album

This release is an update of Devilfish - Manalive (Past), which famously sampled those striking chords from 'Good Life' - in 2000. The package is a combination of current 'Techno' sounds and some more underground sounds too. The only thing which comes across as odd is Roel Salemink's name appearing next to Devilfish and although the his 'remix' is quite dull; it surprisingly appears next to the original when this is infact the version from 2000. Fortunately the other mixes are a slight bit more inspirational, with the Jon Rundell Remix even managing to chart number 1 on the biggest download sites. Nonetheless, they still arent even comparable to the Techno classic Bush fans, and Techno fans will always remember. It shouldnt be a surprise to see the original on this release, as it should be.

Yet another stupid ripoff track that steals from Inner City's "Good Life." I'm really surprised an established label like Bush would release this. According to the description on the Bush site, this is an 'instant classic.' I'd say 'stolen from a classic' instead. Beyond the obvious theft involved, the track is repetitive and manages to mangle up the Inner City sample in completely unmusical ways. And there are dozens of different remakes, remixes, and sample jobs that borrow from "Good Life" that do something interesting. Complete wankers.

Stolen? Theft? Are you serious? Someone obviously doesn't know about sampling, copyright, and royalties.Manalive is a classic and still used regularly 14 years later by a ton of DJs.
