Alas, "Mutatio ex Machina" is significantly more trancy than the previous album. Most of the haunted dark electro and more aggressive EBM attitude is replaced by teknoid dance beats and a more sleek finish, not to my likening. I still like the instrumental and multilayered track "Captivating", though, which still sounds more akin to what Grendel would probably release these days than what they delivered on (the awesome!) "Heaven or Hell". Of the regular tracks I find it hard to muster any real excitement, rather a sense of disappointment, to be honest. Hard pressed, I would perhaps pick the Sinfusion remix as a decent club track.
