This is a new name to me - seemingly a DJ from Japan, this is a mix that more or less skirts dance music; instead, it’s much more meditative and calm, a perfect mix to stick on the tape deck in the morning or evening. It runs through many genres, some rather disparate in sound - from hazy ambient techno to psychedelic sanza, to trippin’ MPB, it really does go across the board - but nevertheless, it’s mixed together and selected with an expert’s touch, overlaid with a sea of tape hiss. It’s a stunning mix that leaves one feeling rejuvenated - truly, a deeply affecting mix, which I feel becomes more of a rarity as time goes on.
