Freedom Of Soul were very Christian, and while the positive message of this track is welcome, the execution of it was hamhanded. The backing track is decent enough, but not too fresh sounding for 1991, a year of many huge leaps in hip hop music. Still, even at "decent," it's too good for the amateurish vocal flow on the verses here. It's all a bit like PM Dawn, but both the main rapper's rhyming and his flow are clunky. The choruses are OK. Weird/funny/distracting use of a Lenny Kravitz vocal sample ("Let Love Rule".) None of it gels all that well.
