Innovate!!! These tunes were the marmite of all marmite .you really did love them or hated them.its obvious that people involved were from session musician backrounds in pop music.because the writing and hooks are of very high standard from that perspective.was this right for happy hardcore? the jury's out on that one.dougal was obviously trying bring some originality to music in way force and styles did. I remember watching him being interviewed on the 90s late night tv dance series B.P.M saying something about he got band together with professional pianist and was saying something along lines of how hardcore was too sample based.but did this did take the vocal factor to far?think the jury's out on that one too. Stuart Russell must been the lyricist as in 2002 in hardcore heaven documentary Dougal and jenna talk bout how brought in Stuart Russell to collaborate on the lyrics to paradise.in my opinion without jenna these tracks would sounded even more poppy.make me free i liked it was really catchy but the out of place guitars and the vocal heavy arrangement made it just lose too much credibility.when talking bout happy hardcore its thin on ground as it is. But for me innovate were and are a guilty pleasure.
