Jóhann Jóhannsson - Mandy (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) FLAC album

A great soundtrack for a great movie; dark, moody and nevertheless beautiful. When finally saw the movie, realized how well the cues fit to the scenes on the film.

With his earlier work, "Sicario", Johannsson brought strong elements of death industrial and death ambient into mainstream film soundtrack probably for the first time in history. Death industrial/ ambient provides a lot more perspective into situations often handled with just excessive boosting bass or modifications of classical instruments with a synth.

On "Mandy" there's lot of variation: from the Carpenter-esque last track to the occasional funeral doom a la Stabat Mater inbetween death industrial/ ambient sounds.

It is obvious a score like this could not be done unless a composer knows both metal and industrial pretty well.

Hopefully after the untimely passing of Johannsson there will be another composers as heavily connaisseurs on underground music.

Not yet convinced will, say, Zimmer/ Wallfisch of "Blade Runner 2049" or Gudnadottir of "Sicario 2" to be able to do the job, though.
