The seventh Inner Shift release, 'Fragments EP' kicks off with 'Fragment One', a relentless ethereal dance-floor voyage through landscapes of warm airy pads, haunting strings, spectral synths and twirling bells, all fuelled by a driving kick and hypnotic acid bass-line. The second part of the trip, 'Fragment Two' is a more relaxed, deeper and down-to-earth construction with its steady kick, rhythmic drums and straightforward looping bass-line that rarely gets a filter treatment. While the first Fragment was the hypnotic one, the second is the cosmic one with its gliding celestial organ bells, lush melodic synths and trance-inducing astral keys, all embracing one another in a truly ecstatic mating dance ritual.

The flip-side changes the rules of the game with 'Seberg', a classic deep house track that has its roots both in the Detroit scene as well as in the forming years of Belfast's own dreamy soundscape. The energy on 'Seberg' is precisely delivered through constant drum sounds, tight kicks and a lovely swingful bass-line, while the mood gets driven with the aid of smooth rich pads, melodic seascape lines and a whole layer of faded ambient soundscapes. To finish the EP in epic fashion, Chris gives us 'Every Single Word', a blissful harmony of breezy oceanic pads, grandiose synth layers and evocative vocal cuts that once let loose, they orchestrate themselves to grandiose states of aural delight.
