Jan Akkerman was in 1973 by the English music magazine Melody Maker named best guitarist in the world. With the double live-cd "10,000 clowns on a rainy day" he proves, almost 25 years later, that he at least still the best guitarist of Netherlands. On the first cd contains recordings of concerts he gave in the past two years the Dutch theaters. Pieces like "Skydancer", "Focus 2", "Pre Madonna" and "Pedestrians" let especially the quiet, atmospheric side of Aa. The second disc was, in the open air and at a temperature of-4 degrees, recorded on 18 april 1997 during the Blues Route in Utrecht. It was, despite the harsh conditions, a spectacular concert. Played were "Sylvia", "Focus 3", the funky "Weed stalker" and the ' bluesje for Ome Kees ' "Pool house".
