Really good 2-CD anthology of J&D. For the casual listeners, the hits (Surf City, Drag City, Little Old Lady From Pasadena) are here, as well as some deeper tracks (both sides of Jan's solo 45). But the real reason to get this is the selection of previously unreleased tracks. "Quasimodo" is an alternate version of the instrumental "B Gas Rickshaw" (which is strange in it's own right). The KWFB radio spots (and there's a lot of 'em) are hilarious, and show J&D's talent for comedy and ad-libbing. Disc 2 is where the unreleased gold is (from track 17 on, everything is unreleased, except for "Popsicle"). The alt. version of "Little Old Lady" is nice, while it's interesting to hear the early version of "Here They Come" (a/k/a the TAMI Show Theme), back when it was called "Music City" and had extra lyrics. The "In The Studio" track gives insight to Jan's ear for production, and how he directed the Wrecking Crew. The rest of the disc (aside from more station ID's) is backing tracks, and if you're as big a fan of the Beach Boys "Stack-O-Tracks" like I am, you'll love these instrumental (and in some cases, instrumental and BV) version of J&D's biggest hits.

In the end, I recommend getting a copy of this, especially if it can be found cheap. It doubles as both a great introduction to J&D, while having enough for a diehard collector.
