Release info (included with promo copies of the record):

So what happens when a young advertising-man, that comes from the far Northern part of Holland where only patatoes grow and very few people live, buys a drummachine and figures that this machine alone should be enough to make music with?
You'll probably end up with loads of rhythmtracks that sound a little bit strange, almost like they're not influenced by any other form of music, let alone techno-music.
The young man is called Johan Sagel and his machine is a very un-hip Roland R-70. This digital, programmable drummachine is seldomly seen in techno-studios, but Johan managed to manipulate it in such a way, that his trax sound just like a bit more than only rhythmtrax. The fact alone that he manages to make very different trax with only a drumcomputer, makes his style of music very techno, in my point of view.
These trax are all gone now, because Johan didn't know how to safe the trax. They only exist on a cassette that i one day found in my mail. Inspired by his work me and DJ Zero One sat down at Johan's R-70 to remix one of his trax. Something completely different and weird came out, so we made some samples from the R-70 sounds and tried it again later. Again something quite different came out, but this time we found it a nice addition to the nine trax that we already selected for Johan's record, the Brainmind Technology EP.
Meanwhile, Johan started to buy some more equipment, moved to the city of Groningen and became very active in the scene there. He's part of various music projects there and plays live regularly. We will no doubt hear more from Jo-I in the future, but for now enjoy these rhythmtrax. If you're a DJ you will probably find them useful to play underneath other weird stuff you like to surprise your audience with.
Good Luck! DJ White Delight.
