I remember hearing the tracks off the Caliber EP were originally going to be released as a 2x12" with the tracks from https://www.discogs.com/Joey-Beltram-Fuzz-Tracks/master/10343. Maybe that's why the sounds from the 2 records are so similar.

"Drome" is a straight, percussive and melodic techno tune not unlike some Jeff Mills/Axis from the same era but more aggressive and bangin. Quite short, tightly produced and structured, in my opinion an exemplary, to-the-point techno tune from that era with the little extra melodic line that will stay in your mind.

This is a departure from Joey's trademark minimal hard punch style, a really great techno record with Beltram showing the ability to create lush delicate atmospheres to compliment his icy rhythms.

I can't believe nobody has commented on this yet! This record is one the best techno record i have. Pure Joey Beltram style, solid drums and a rolling bassline, a bit trance-style. It also borrows an epic mood from this genre.

I play A1 Caliber very often. B1 Orion has to be my favourite. So dreamy and yet raving. It also builds up so is great to mix with something harder. B2 Drome is probably the harder of them all and a very balanced tune. A2 Electronic is quite trancey, but I still like it cos it has that flavour of the early nineties.
