Such a fun tune to throw in the mix.. A genuine anthem. One to fill the big arena events. This sold by the bucket loads and rightly so... (Double drop with the atlantis remix...)

I have always played this at 33 - a side is a breaks track and the b side is a downtempo UK garage trackIt doesn't work at 45 in its D+B guise due to the reedy snares and chipmunk vocals

Ok, I do not mean to insult him, different strokes for different folks, but calling this the worst Metalheadz release ever sort of makes your "drum and bass authenticity" questionable.John B definitely is a divisive character in the scene, but it's pointless to the deny genius behind Up All Night. There's a certain reason why it is still spinned these days by literally everyone. Whether one hates the chipmunk vocals, the cheesy trancey theme or not, this is an essential Metalheadz package, a classic release.

a definate nod to the early 90's with this one!!! i love everything about the original hardcore sound! i love everything about this john b track.the rave stabs,the classic rave piano's,its about time that d&b paid back its respect dues to what created it in the first place for what was born out of the late 80's acid house revolution. Something alot of modern d&b followers are either not aware of or basicly don't care about & why should they eh???? its all about 'here & whats happening now' 25 years later.....or is it?????????????? i think its a wicked tune! definate thumbs up if you love a huge slice,stab & sound of the past bought forward into the present.......mmmmmmmm yeahhhh i can smell the ardcore nostagia in the air.....not to mention the vicks vapour rub!!!!!! lol 5/5

That flute sample is so familiar to another song that uses the same tone of the flute, I am on a quest to find which song that is, if anybody can help me out then that would be amazing. amazing tune, master.

Micky2bad must be Twisted Individual in disguise. What he fails to mention is this is a seminal D&B track which helped to resuscitate the ailing Metalheadz brand. It was a moment in drum & bass history that faithfully and respectfully took the DNA of hardcore and injected it into a futuristic D&B mould. "Up All Night" has a beautiful introduction, masterful build up, cavernous bassline and rewindable drop. Made in four days by John B ... probably less time than it took Micky2bad to come up with his comment. 5/5.

Hi micky2bad, I think with this opinion you MUST be the only one in the universe! But nevermind everybody has diferent taste, I´ve got same problem with this tune: Shimon & Andy C - Body Rock http://www.discogs.com/Shimon-Andy-C-Body-Rock/release/10545 But I can´t say "one of the worst", "just" don´t like it (and it´s strange, because I´m the fan of RAM records :-) And John B is for me something like Paul Van Dyk of drum & bass - he uses very sweet and trance sounds. Possibly one of the worst releases on metalheads ever. A travesty of a tune which I had the misfortune of hearing at every rave between 2000 and 20002 , With its half arsed hi pitched chipmunk vocals and predictable reese bassline all sprinkled on top of weak beats which in turn spawned a thousand carbon copies equally as bad if not worse than the original. The only saving grace for this 12" was the fact that I sold it on ebay for £50:00.

Compare this with Remark, Ronnie size, Krust, Die, Dillinger, Shy FX, Lemon D, Moving Shadow/Reinforced, 4-Hero, EARLY Metalheads, Doc Scott, Bukem, Photek, Plug, Linx e.t.c- and tell me this is a classic? Flat as a pancake, obvious and not moving anything. Some like it, some don't, but its a thick wall of noise with little detail or technical prowess. It worked on the (then) new school crowd who were none the wiser and has its place there, but I wouldn't bet on it in a fight with any of the above mentioned pioneers.

This is one of the best drum & bass tunes of all time and will be stamped in your mind from the very first listen. 'Up all night' is the best tune John B has ever produced and one on Metalheadz's finest ever releases. The tune starts with rave bleeps and atmospherics followed by a classic helium sounding vocal, what follows then is classic rave pianos and the most intense reece bassline you have ever heard! When the super sharp beats kick in you know that this track is a classic that will never fade.
