This album is a live recording from a concert in 1996 in St. Louis. On first listen, it sounds like a typical folk album. After a few listens, the album gains depth and reveals itself. The concert/album begins with a Pete Seeger tune "Well May The World Go," which is a nice folk ballad. This is followed by a traditional tune and "Pass The Music On," a song that tells of continuing the tradition of folk music and passing the music on to the next generation. McCutcheon & Chapin do folk music true justice on this album, especially with the second half of this album. The songs penned by McCutcheon & Chapin truly sound like they could have been around for the last 50 years! The song "Starlight" is especially beautiful, evoking the long-lost spirit of Harry Chapin (and almost sounds like something he could have written!). All-in-all, this is some beautiful folk songwriting and performing, both vocally and instrumentally.
