New tape of material recorded over the Summer and Fall of 2010 by Zach Phillips, of Blanche Blanche Blanche. This music can be seen as the transitional sound in between his mostly instrumental acoustic piano work as Horse Boys (see the FTR tape "III/IV") and the duo pop bliss of BBB that has seen the light via a tape and upcoming LP, both on Night People. He's also the weirdo behind the Nals Goring side of the split LP with No Sound that Feeding Tube put out a couple years back (still available). In addition to this highly affecting, but not affected recording, Zach just released another solo outing as Bruce Hart on Not Not Fun. This long album really showcases his complexly skewed sense of melody and his delightfully off key home recording skills. From burbling synth instrumentals to heartfelt ballads with horrifying screeches, this tape has it all. There must be something in the water up in Brattleboro, VT because the music up there just keeps getting better and better (see Happy Jawbone Family Band, the Weisman clan, et al.)
