Katsuhiko Sagai presents Pentacle, the debut album from Katsuhiko and friends that explores deep melodic techno, minimal techno and ambient soundscapes.

Pentacle is the 90th online release from Irish powerhouse Nice & Nasty and after a series of remixes from Katsuhihko for the likes of Thatboytim, Marco Bernardi, Tomi Chair and Mark O'Sullivan for Nice & Nasty, Irish-Japanese collaboration reaches its pinacle with pentacle.

Pentacle features Yasuharu Motomiya, Fift and long time collaborator Yuki:o. Katsuhiko is also known as one part of the talented Water Protection; however, Pentacle is a 12 track personal journey into minimal techno. Along the way there are moments that pay homage to classic Detroit techno; throughout the album there is a nod and a wink to the Micro funk of Berlin and Montreal; and as the journey ends the adventure signs off with a wonderful slice of pure electronica.

Distinctly though Pentacle epitomizes the polite, clean and minimal stereotype of Japanese culture and shows off the impact global electronic music has had on the far east. Katsuhiko is an artist of immense skilll and craft and Pentacle displays the artistry and attention to detail he puts into every work of art. Each track shifts effortlessly rom one to another and in that is more like a traditional rock album than a collection of tracks. If it needed an extra
boost it got it through the splendid Mastering of Kamui.
