In October 1937, Kitty Gray, led her own band, The Wampus Cats, which included Buddy Woods on guitar, together with guitarist, Joe Harris. Kitty played piano, and there was a string bass player. They were recorded in San Antonio by Vocalion, The only title under Kitty Gray’s name was “Baton Rouge Rag” which, was not issued at the time.
