Oddly I guess age has made me less of a "synth" purity listener and I have taken the early more raw experimentalist side of Schulze to heart and ear. Klaus' early proto-electronica was more about texture than rhythm and whatnot and exudes a sense of wonder in sound manipulation that I find quite refreshing to the sequencer lambasting of his later years.
I enjoy his riffing on primitive electric organ and guitar experimentation which creates a darker dronier and more brooding atmosphere on par with his later Cyborg and Irrlicht. Of course the silicon circuit manipulations of Moonwind will be the benchmark of which we will all herald KS as a electronic pioneer but his earlier material warrants a listen in the right frame of mind (usually 1am is a pleasant time to listen to this material!).

The re-releases from the Ultimate Edition of La vie electronique 1 and 2 are VERY good news as together they contain some of the best music Klaus ever created! These are all early 70's masterworks which are deeply atmospheric, mysterious, and sublime.Anyone who enjoys subtle organ, synth, and at times percussion work, will love these releases.

Risking sounding slightly ungrateful - the tracks added to the reissues of Blackdance, Irrlicht & Cyborg do nothing for the original albums.
If you love these three albums, as i do, then the above release is the best thing to happen since i discovered a copy of Mayfair magazine in my neighbour's garage in 1979.
Massive long ambient passages, huge chunks of what might have been included on any of the above three releases are offered here.
These CD's, all running just under 80 minutes each, feel amazing!
The time spent chasing music like this can never be calculated, but heres the pay off, - you can obtained this for just under 11quid!
I'd pay 30, - happily. Thank You KDM
