La Fabbrica Dell'Assoluto - 1984: L'Ultimo Uomo D'Europa FLAC album

I can't believe what Black Widow Records have been putting out lately. They seem to be on the forefront of an Italian prog revival and I've discovered several new titles that really blew me away. Although Black Widow has been a metal label, they've dealt with prog rock since practically day one, so prog isn't anything new to them, but they seemed really on a roll in recent years as far as prog is concerned.

1984: L'Ultimo Uomo D'Europa from La Fabbrica Dell'Assoluto is nothing short of a mindblowing heavy prog album. This is a concept album based on George Orwell (no surprise given the album's title) and this is one serious retro album. Keyboardist Daniele Fuligni uses tons of Hammond organ, Mini Moog (the original, that is, not the new Voyager), Logan String Melody, and Davoli synth, as well as the Clavia Nord Stage 2 (the only modern keyboard here), which he uses for the Mellotron and piano parts with help from Michele Ricciardi on drums, Marco Piloni on drums, Daniele Sopranzi on guitars, and Claudio Cassio on vocals. Make no doubt about it, if you enjoy RDM, Metamorfosi, the heavier-side of New Trolls (second disc of Searching for a Land, the heavier moments of UT), Biglietto per L'Inferno, Museo Rosenbach, as well as ELP, you simply need this CD, with tons of heavy guitar as well as wonderful analog keyboards, this being done in 2015. The music often has a doomy vibe, especially some of those ultra-sinister synth passages, but makes sense given the Orwellian theme. There's a few spacy, experimental passages, but overall, this is heavy Italian prog at its absolute finest! Simply be prepared to have your mind blown hearing this!
