This is an excellent, modern version of the Wonder Boy III soundtrack. All real instruments; from string orchestra to guitars, trombones and more exotic variants, it's evident this was a labor of love. The tempo mostly follows the original game, which at times can seem a bit restraining. The arrangements wouldn't hurt to be given a bit more space, but after several listening sessions it sticks pretty well and is regardless one of my absolute favourites.

Track endings could have been better. Some have defined endings, while the majority follows the "loop once" formula before fading out in the third round. You do get used to it, but it hurts the continuity of the album. It would benefit greatly if being presented as finite pieces.

Details aside, this is a great sounding, long lasting album. For those with good setups, there's plenty of detail/ear candy to be had from the pressing.
