apparently an extremely rare promo version that was ultimately rejected by nitzer ebb. it was supposedly only handed out to a few select billboard reporters, and then was pulled from circulation at the last minute. this promo version contains the "stupid mix" which does not appear on the other (more readily available) promo version (PRO-A-4128). it's possible only a few may exist. if someone has more information, please add to my comment or correct me. thanks!

Yes, the Stupid Mix bears little to no resemblance of the original track or the other Getting Closer remixes. Probably why the band rejected it. It's basically an early 90's house/DJ cut. It does have a few vocal samples (from movies?) here and there and even ends with C+C Music Factory's "I've Got The Power" vocal.

If the Stupid Mix is a thoroughly non-industrial house remix (even had a simple piano line if I recall), then I can confirm that this is indeed the unreleased test pressing heard by only a few people before it was rejected by the band and never heard of again.Have one in storage. Next time I put my hands on it, I'll check the catalog # and post a clip online if it is indeed the same record.
