grand star
Interesting to contrast his Real World Records releases with the great body of his earlier, more traditional releases. The sparse instrumental accompaniment on the earlier releases actually made it harder for me to appreciate his voice, so I much prefer his later output which combined his Qawwaliss with western music. This album was issued in 1990 by Peter Gabriel's label, Real World Records. Peter had previously worked with Nusrat on "The Last Temptation Of Christ" soundtrack, as well as "introducing" Nusrat to Western audiences when he invited him to perform at his WOMAD festival in London in 1985. For my money, this may be his strongest release, and is a good marriage of his amazing vocal talents with rich harmonic instrumental accompaniment.

I adore the first track on this album, it's great to chill out too. Musicianship is top class.
