Wow!! Memories listening to black steel on a tape going home on the bus. This is what hardcore is about, mad samples, crazy baselines and well produced. Dark and nasty this one, wish I was back in 93 a classic!!

I don't recall a DJ Pulse on Pulse FM so not sure about that but DJ Pulse was the guy heavily involved with Creative Wax and tunes on Moving Shadow etc. 94-96 era.Also if you look at the record notes on other On Remand tunes there's shouts out to all the Creative Wax guys from the time.

My copy has DJ Pulse written on the label, wasn't sure if this was the producer of the tracks or the previous owner of the record.. I presume this is the same guy who used to play on Pulse FM?

Black Steel is a PROPER tune. Epic production and some really weird sounds, the deflating fog horn style noise is classic. One for the heads.Controllin is just Grade A 1993 Pirate material. The Tango remix is absolutely banging.
