Oscar Mulero & Christian Wünsch - The Damage Done Part 2 FLAC album

The second installment kicks off from where the last one left us. Oscar Mulero starts in his finest, traditionally high quality off beat techno style with The Modern Genius and Modern Chronicles. Nothing much to add here, if you liked his releases on Warm Up Recordings, such as "The Nine" (WU009), "46" (WU017) and "Implant" (WU018), then you will dig the A1 and B1 tunes here as well. The New Leader Of Men comes as a nice surprise though. Not heavy on the percussion, some vague drum rolls are heard in the background, but with a pulsatingly ticking, hovering bass line, with casual and cursory outbursts of sci-fi effects and sounds, kind of reminiscent of the vintage Jeff Mills spacee out stuff on Axis.
Christian Wunsch goes all out with Close To Me. A banging, crisp, monotonous, rectilinear and undeviating, four on the floor and a spiked whip landing on your aching back techno thunder for the solitary dungeons in the cellars of Alcatraz. There is nothing more to it, the sound is amazing, remember that point in the BMB track Father Loves Us when everything else is just slaughtered by the insanely loud and hard percussion? Well, this is more of the same. I mean, these drums lay heavy pressure on my speaker system. Other Voices keeps going in the same direction, although it's not as aggressive and stripped down. It has this really wicked shuffled sequence throughout, which adds a littly more substance to the music, as the previous track was really a murder one charge without the possibility of parole. His last track, Another Day, is along the lines of Mulero's work here, and sound wise is comparable to 1969 on "The Damage Done" (PO 1). Off-beat, with plenty breaks and distorted sounds carved into the music. For those into this kind of stuff, and followers of Olga+Jozef, Rumenige, Takaaki Itoh and Gunjack, this is compulsory.
Basically, if you've even remotely enjoyed the previous "The Damage Done" double pack, there isn't even the slightest hint of a reason or excuse for not owning this one. Top of the line hybrid of straight up back to basics techno onslaughts and sinister, erratic off-beat structures filling you with more industrial lead than elementary school pencils.
