I have the 45 RPM version and the pressing is really good. Is there really a 33 RPM version at all?

Like others, mine is a terrible pressing. The new record was covered in fingerprints, and there were two pronunced scuff marks on side 2. I have cleaned it twice and it still looks shit. There is crackly surface noise over much of the LP, though thankfully no scratches. The CD is my go-to option for this album. I will be much more cautious about buying anything pressed by GZ in future.

Mine is a 45 RPM version, absolutely terrible. Pops and clicks throughout both sides. Unlistenable.

My copy sounds relly nice. Quiet with low background noice. Guess I was lucky.

I have the 45rpm pressing and it plays absolutely fine with no background noises or crackles. It may be down to the cartridge but even on a fairly entry level system it was quiet. Record cleaning might help too. The recording itself is excellent with clear separatiion between instruments and vocals which leads me to think that this is not an mp3 pressing. As for the music, well it is PJ Harvey. You will either love or hate the sparseness and desolate soundscape. I love it.

I'm with you on that one. I returned a copy and traded in for another and it had the same problem. I keep the record in an anti-static sleeve now but I fear the damage has already been done. Such a shame as it's a great record, the silence/quieter parts are integral to the sound of the record. But all you get is ticks and clicks. Boo-urns.

it's pressed by gzvinyl and they are worst vinyl pressing company i've ever see. worst inlay paper produces lot of paper dust, static electric to kill your vinyl. they do it everytime.

Doulkree

For the most part, I agree. I have all of PJ Harvey's albums on vinyl, with the exception of Dry and Rid Of Me, none of them are anything special. It seems as though none of her music was mastered with vinyl in mind.

Hawk Flying

One of PJ Harvey's best albums--like you've never heard her before. It's haunting, intimate, ethereal, and extremely captivating. I also highly recommend getting the 45rpm version, if you can find it, as the sound quality is far superior.
