This is the most accessible album by PJ Harvey so far. The British singer, guitarist and songwriter lived in preparation for the plate some time in a New York apartment and provided for Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea by a similar atmosphere as Lou Already raw, direct tribute to The Big Apple, ' New York '. Another name that comes up immediately when listening to the cd is Patti Smith; especially in a song like Good Fortune seems Harvey's voice much like that of its American counterpart. Beautiful, controlled songs, which only a few times old-fashioned ' derail ', and a clean production making Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea a strong plate, with the undisputed highlight the mainly by Thom Yorke (Radiohead) Sung This Mess we're In.
