rumors says that Dark Entries is working on a re-issue

Sermak Light
Isn't the original 88 US release missing in the release overview? Am I missing something?

Castiel
Wondering the same. It seems there is a maxi single cd release containing instrumental version. Searching for that !

Wnex
I reckon the inclusion of this track on 'silence of the lambs' was a stroke of genius by whoever it was that made that decision.it brings out a darkness that may not have been fully recognised otherwise.it sounds so sinister and twisted in that context, yet I have listened to it a hundred times when out and about and it is quite beautiful really.

Well, as it was used in both Silence Of The Lambs (1991) and Married To The Mob (1988), two movies by Jonathan Demme, whom Q Lazzarus picked up when she worked as a taxi driver in New York City. Her demo was playing in the taxi, and Demme took her to Hollywood, where despite his encouragement, record companies refused to sign her because they believed she couldn't be marketed. Q replied, "I market myself, I'm an African American woman who wears locks and sings American rock and roll."

Ghile
Also available on the married to the mob soundtrack, that's what I have. Killer track. Crowd pleaser.

Maridor
I have contacted Mon Amie Records and they have told me that a compilation of Q. Lazzarus is in the pipeline. This will include unreleased demo songs and the track everybody wants (me too).....Goodbye Horses.

Ghordana
no extended version for you, sorry ten words ten wor

Hanelynai
They just posted a teaser on their Facebook page! Apparently APRIL 21!!

Skilkancar
Wow!! The Extended Version this time as well, hopefully in master quality??

It is difficult to express in words the greatness of Goodbye Horses but I will try. White Lines is the second song on the album , very good song but with different atmosphere . William Garvey was the producer and the writer of Goodbye Horses.Goodbye Horses:The atmosphere of the song connected so perfectly to the movie The Silence of the Lambs ,The electronic sounds, the drumming rhythm and the Magnificent singing voice of the mysterious Q. Lazzarus create Dark Beauty and Hypnotic atmosphere, It's easy to become addicted to the song. It's unbelievable that a singer who performs a song so perfectly just vanished , Just think of an entire Q. Lazzarus album with the same style of Goodbye Horses.I bought the CD Various ‎– Zwischenfall - From The 80's To The 90's Vol. 2 (1996) so I can listen to Goodbye Horses on official cd , the cd collection includes the 4:20 version (7" Version).

I have a mint (sealed) copy of the 6:27 version, maybe we can press some reissues? Spread this fantastic song.

elegant stranger
Unplayed and in sealed shrinkwrap.

Brannylv
As far as I am aware this release did not come in shrinkwrap. By 'sealed' do you actually just mean unplayed?

Jaiarton
Dammit, I added a doppleganger. Thanks for the link -_-

Usic
Here's the only unofficial release that includes the extended 6:27 version, a good copy too! http://www.discogs.com/Various-Special-Extended-Play-Vol29/release/2391869

ZloyGenii
I still haven't opened it yet! But I'm not considering selling at the moment. Need to rip it the best I can.

Doriel
Would you sell?

Fegelv
Thanks to the GTA Guys for bringing me this unbelivable piece of music!!!

Ber
Save yourself a ton of cash and get the soundtrack to clerks 2. There is a 6:27 version on there.

Sironynyr
Well I don't know, I have this one : Various - Special Extended Vol. 29

Hawk Flying
I have no doubt that it will, mine does. It is the same tune that Buffalo Bill dances to.

Brajind
I haven't even opened my copy, I hope it sounds like it should.

Qwert
So there ARE at least two releases with the 6:27 version... Good to know. I just bought the EP with this mix.

Yanthyr
And it sounds absolutely terrible. It's the same 6:27 version that appears here. A very poor vinyl rip with a huge amount of sibilance and way too much low end. Whoever did it didn't have a clue. Unfortunately though it's all we have. :( at least, until someone digs up the 12" master and releases it on CD *ahem* *cough* Ben Liebrand are you listening?? or someone with money to burn and serious vinyl transfer skills and equipment buys a mint copy and does the job.

Manona
Only on CD though innit.

Yayrel
I hope someone reissues the ~7 min version. Maybe remastered by the great George Horn at Fantasy Studios??? Because this song is dope and anyone asking $730 for a fuckin 1-2 song record is in all likelihood a total fucking dickhead.

Wal
Hard to really describe how great this piece of music is and how beloved it is. It's as great as the 12" is unobtainable. The singer is shrouded in mystery and the writer of the song died a few years ago in relative obscurity whereas the singer has never really been known in music circles. They made their tune though and they'll always be remembered for it, even if they never got the fame or fortune such an ingenious piece of art deserves. One of the few tunes I'll never grow sick of hearing. Who knows who Q.Lazzarus is or was but what a contribution she and her band made with one single moment of inspiration. Love this record.
