This is the case of Greek sound artist Savvas Metaxas who fore into the geographical landscape and morphology that surrounds the city of Thessaloniki, the second city of Greece and an important port in the North of the Aegean Sea.
'Wetlands', which is a single 19-minute track only, focuses on the soundscape of the Thessaloniki harbor with movements of water, seagulls and bird songs, noise of motor engines, the blow of blunt objects, the sound of the rain and voices. All this processed, so in certain segments of this piece it is not easy to detect which is the sound source.
These field recordings are the sound source of what could be a film document. Interesting!
