This is one of those records where it all falls into place. Hand in glove par excellence. Although the makers of this record will be permanently remembered for their fanatical hard trance / hardstyle sets and / or productions, there is absolutely nothing I've ever come across with their name on it that surpasses Beginning Of The End. This record has it all. Slamming percussion, tight breaks, dope usage of vocal snippets, wicked filter sweeps, and bass drops you won't get tired of upon the hundreth listen.

Granted, it's all floor filling material, but given the quality, you'll hardly complain. Drenched in punchy drum work, clinically deployed highs and punctual break downs, this four tracker - in my ear lobes at least - epitomizes the club utilitarianism functionalism of techno without sacrificing musical quality. Sure it's four to the floor "bangness", but keep in mind that conjuring a four tracker designed to make the clubs rumble, and make it relevant well over a decade later, is just as demanding as dropping a cerebral workout with the sole intention of making one scratch their head.

This jewel, along with perhaps Gaiden's Point Blank, Speedy J's Krekc, Scorp's New Energy and a handful of records produced by Surgeon rank amongst my favorite from the last decade. Naturally there are many more that don't immediately pop up in my mind, however what I am most certain of, is that if I want to recreate a sixty minute throw back to a peak time techno set dating from 2001, this record will most definitely be at the top of the pile. Essential.

Undoubtly one of the best hard techno EP's ever made. 4 tracks and they are all killers. If you are listening to it for a first time, only thing that you have in mind is...what a hi hats! Really, they are amazing, never heard something like this before and I think I will never do for a long time. Second thing is filters work, you just can't get them out of your head, lovely. Buy this or die trying!
