T'Pau - China In Your Hand 2004 FLAC album

I've been reading up on the controversy regarding this release, and it's quite interesting! You'll find a lot more info on the T'pau official Yahoo Group (mailing list) but overall I think the issues all boils down to which vocals do the 2004 remixes contain? If it's the original 1987 vocals then Carol Decker probably has no legal claim because Virgin Records owns the copyright to those, and can do whatever they want with them - remixes, re-releases, etc. However, if China In Your Hand 2004 does actually contain vocals that she re-recorded, that changes things completely. Dance Street Records & ZYX are both pretty big companies, and I'd like to think they'd usually be very careful about releasing any music for which they don't own the rights to. I wonder if Carol Decker was confused and thought these used new vocals but they didn't, or perhaps she actually did sign the contract for re-releasing the single as a dance record and then just forgot about it? This remix package has a fascinating history, and doesn't sound too bad for what they are either!
