This is my 3rd Disco Discharge purchase from Amazon. It is certainly an interesting product.Highlights are "Countdown/This Is It" by Dan Hartman, a 14 minute medley that is sheer joy, very anthemic, a natural follow up to his "Instant Replay" mega hit of '78. "Dancing Angel" by the Constellation Orchestra has the typical Boyce and Dillard sound, and is great..thumping piano, odd time changes and lots of drama. The Ring's "Savage Lover" is tremendous, its a weird song, but addictive, very hot."Somethings Up" by Wayne St John is a long, dramatic drawn out record that is just brilliant. I already owned "Never Gonna Say Goodbye" by Poussez but it is still a brilliant piece of disco gold."Soul Searching Time" by the Trammps is a soulful disco offering that just builds and builds, amazing stuff. "Weekend" is a let down.It sounds like an 80s remix and all the best bits of the original are left out.Similarly "Do Your Best" by Carol Hahn is a non disco item that never really gets going and has a melody I dont really like.Q is similar.I wish the compiler would stick to disco and not cuts from the early 80s. All in all though, it contains many excellent feet stomping disco moments and I would recommend it.Interesting liner notes too.

No way that's the "Original 12" Instrumental Mix" of Mick Jackson's "Weekend", and the researchers must have had a tin frickin' ear to think it was. There's modern overdubs all over the place on that thing. Just listen to the drums!

haha yes I noticed that too! What a letdown eh!
