That’s right. Do not adjust your screen. TEN. CD. SET. It’s not a typo. Loosen your collar, take a moment to breathe…maybe find your wallet.
As some of you may recall, we recently reached the somewhat significant numerical milestone of no less than 100 separate CD releases over the last few years – culminating in the publication of the 32-page full-colour A4 magazine “Digital World Audio” complete with 15-track compilation CD.

You might have thought that seemed celebration enough.

But THIS IS SPARTA….sorry…”This is DWA”.

The perceptive among you might have noticed a seeming shortfall in our catalogue numbers between those of the most excellent debut by THE .INVALID (DWD258) and the magazine+CD (DWA279) – a shortfall of precisely 20 apparently unassigned catalogue numbers. No, it was no mistake.

In planning like “Digital World Agenda” for over a year, we present to you, crazed collectors and remix junkies, the ultimate in our limited edition CD sets to date.

A 10CD collection encompassing the combined remix output for DWA to date by the diverse talents of DYM, DIE SEKTOR, VPROJEKT, CYGNOSIC, STUDIO-X, FREAKANGEL, TERROLOKAUST, CEDIGEST and DETROIT DIESEL – plus a 10th “bonus CD” celebrating some of the finest remixes submitted to us by less-regular collaborators such as AESTHETIC PERFECTION, THE MARCH VIOLETS, AMGOD, DISTORTED MEMORY and more.

Comprising of no less than 8 previously unreleased tracks, 5 never before available on CD, and 14 deleted, the 100 tracks of “DWA XxX” (that’s “10 discs times 10 tracks”, get it? Well, and/or “sexy kisses”…) present an amazing overview of the remixers art from some of the finest remixers out there – 36 tracks of which have only ever been available previously in Japan.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful, we thought, to have all those rad remixes side-by-side on one single CD for each remixer? Well yes, it would. So that’s exactly what we did. An entire album each, all in the inimitable musical style of that one remixer – as we once did with the CD2 “Studio Remi-X”of STUDIO-X’s “Neo-Futurism”…

And when we say “remixes” don’t for one moment imagine 100 tracks back-to-back at the same BPM. This is a collection carefully crafted for maximum variety, from a wide range of some of the most inventive remixers around. Each of these 10-track collections sounds exactly like an album in its own right, stamped with the individual signature sound of each remixer.

From the hard dance stylings of STUDIO-X, through the dark electro sounds of CYGNOSIC, TERROLOKAUST and DETROIT DIESEL, the innovative experimentation of DIE SEKTOR, VPROJEKT and DYM to the rock end of industrial with FREAKANGEL and CEDIGEST, this is a collection which runs the gamut of dark electronic musical styles, intentionally sequenced to either ebb and flow over one intense listening experience or to be pulled out and put on one disc at a time depending on day and mood.

“Back in the day” DWA started out by releasing 100-copy limited editions…so although we now aspire to somewhat loftier sales targets, in a nod to those early days and to maintain the theme of “X x X” we are “going old-school” and releasing “DWAXxX” in a Limited Edition of 100. None of these discs will be sold separately nor ever re-pressed – there are just 100 copies for sale, and once they’re gone they’re gone forever.

And while it would in theory be entirely possible to price this 10CD set far higher given its collectability, that’s not really DWA’s style nor in keeping with the idea of this release – which is primarily as a kind of “thank you” to all of you out there who have helped us reach 100 separate CD titles over a relatively short period of time. So we prefer to offer it at the remarkably reasonable cost of 60 EUR inclusive of worldwide shipping (50EUR for the 10CD, 4 EUR for PayPal, 6 EUR for postage and packing) – or 66 EUR if you order via Bandcamp, because they take 10% and while we usually suck that up 6 EUR is quite a hefty chunk of change (hint Bandcamp – cut us a price break on this kind of thing please).

At this price, and in this limited a quantity, we are not expecting this title to sit on our shelves for long. At which point you will be able to download the entire collection in one fell swoop. Well, if you have a fast enough Internet connection – if downloading in FLAC that could make for somewhere around 5Gb in data…

Yes, we’re going to drag the whole thing out over 10 days – because we’re sadistic like that…and so that we can spotlight a different album from the set every day right through to the full digital release date of October 7th. At which point we will digitally release the full 100 tracks to anyone pre-ordering between now and then – including of course those ordering the 10CD set…

As much of it has already been available at some point in the past, even if now deleted, we’ve decided to retail ALL the individual tracks on our Bandcamp-hosted DWA-Digital page at the rock-bottom price of just 0,50EUR, the individual albums at just 4 EUR, and the entire 100-track download at just 35 EUR. Yes – even all those primo previously-unreleased tracks

(As with all our digital releases, what is already available first on our own Bandcamp store should soon spread out across Spotify, Amazon, iTunes etc – except you’ll only find the individual 10-track albums there, as there is no good way for us to get a 100-track release into those places. For those of you who favour iTunes or Amazon – the only 2 digital retailers where we can have any kind of say about costs – we’ve requested the lowest possible prices for these titles there too…)

So looking at it like that, if deducting the cost of the download you’d be shelling out just an additional 25 EUR to get your hands on one of the 100 copies of the 10CD Limited Edition and have it delivered to your door…

“DWAXxX – 10 CD Limited Edition” comes in a tough black plastic case cunningly constructed to accommodate both a hand-numbered outer sleeve and 12-page colour booklet, and yet still fit snugly into your CD-rack at the same height and width as a regular jewelcase (it’s just way deeper, naturally – to accommodate all those precious discs).
