According to the matrix numbers this is a repress from around 1985. Insert has a record for sale "D.O.A. - Let's Wreck The Party" which was released in 1985... so this would suggest this pressing was released around the same time in 1985.

A-side label has maroon text over a silver eyeball image on a white background; B-side label has the AT bat logo in silver ink on a maroon background.

There's something about this one that when spinning, continuously screams out "absolute classic". The scope of the compilation expresses the critical notion that not only "true" hardcore music and it's sibling, "genuine" punk music manages to do at it's best, that the rejection of the status quo can result in harshly original music. There's something here for everyone, ironic as it may be.

Side 1 is "hardcore's greatest hits," so it's great, but you've probably heard it all before. But in 1981, this stuff was brand new and largely unheard.

In fact the whole purpose of "Jellybeans" was to expose Europe to North America's finest. See, when the Dead Kennedys toured Europe the first time, they were surprised that nobody knew about Black Flag,Circle Jerks, D.O.A. and the rest and so something must be done!

Side two is the "experimental side" and is hit or miss with a lot of people. Largely "miss" with me, but once in a while I feel the need to hear Geza X or BPeople.
