Sure, some music is missing, but I'm glad someone finally released most of it on CD. Ironically, now I only listen to a CDR I made of the Stomu Yamashta and John Phillips tracks.

Some of the John Phillips music on this edition is not the same as what is heard in the film. 'Window' & 'Alberto' are either alternate versions or different mixes. Also missing is the jazz music that Farnsworth plays in his apartment at the beginning of the film. The cues known as 'Window', 'Alberto' & the unknown jazz music I refer to above were part of the mysterious incidental music in the film that fans had been asking about for years, so much so that no one was even certain as to who composed it. Now we finally know, but this edition uses different versions of those cues unfortunately. And that jazz music at the beginning of the film is still unaccounted for.I'm sure the people who put this edition together did the very best they could with whatever was on those recently found master tapes, but I can't help but feeling a bit disappointed that the 3 or 4 pieces by John Phillips that I most wanted over the years are the very same cues which have different(re: not as good as the film) mixes, or are still missing(mystery jazz track) with no mention of them in the liner notes of this edition. It's a shame because this music is not available anywhere else, unlike all of the other pieces in the soundtrack. So we will probably never get the actual versions that John Phillips composed for the film.

This would be good to get, if you can find it: https://www.discogs.com/John-Phillips-The-Man-Who-Fell-To-Earth/release/9252553

Booooo Hoooo! Sadly...there's still important music missing! Whilst it is good to have the music presented on this double disc, it is sad that we still are not any closer to having those few missing pieces (like the jazz track Farnsworth plays at the start of the movie). Where are they? It would be good if the disc liner notes gave some explanation!
