The cassette is divided into "The Studio Recordings" on side A and "The Field Recordings" on side B.
The studio recordings feature the traditional three-drum batá ensemble as well as soloists and choral singers.
The field recordings were recorded on site at actual Santeria rites in isolated communities in the hinterlands of Cuba in the 1950s.

Released on a clear cassette in a tape case with a 12-page j-card cover.
