OK, so I know we are supposed to be "green" these days. Use the bus, eat less or no meat, use energy saving lightbulbs and recycle our waste. But music? Surely we dont have to keep recycling that as well? Well, sadly, it appears we do. I have listened to this online and found it quite depressing {not only because I remember the originals from pirate radio and nights out lost in the dry ice}. A prime example is the re-edit of "Face It" which strips all the moody late night soul and throws in a Reese sample {which presumably the teen/early 20s market this compilation is aimed at won't be familiar with}. I thought we had reached saturation point with all the disco and latterly cosmic re-edits {some of which I admit have been pretty good, in part because some of the originals are so hard to find}. This CD only serves to remind us how great the TRAX originals are but apart from this does very little. It also makes me think "what next, Kraftwerk re-edited or maybe Dubstep remixes of ABBA"....oh and listen to the new "version" of R U Hot Enough if you want a giggle!
