Braendo
Very powerful neo-folk with strong references to paganism and nordic shamanism.
But again redefining the traditional form and context that neo-folk has been taken recently. The task basically consists on a lot more rhytmic and ritual inducing style and less contemplative approach than in previous works, Organic sounds and effects reminiscent of a telluric nature. A downtuned and distorted guitar with lots of black-metal "feeling" was introduced adding an interesting heart bursting sensation aside from additional strongness.
This album is surrounded by strange atmospheres and as said before, clearly evocates rituals to awaken ignote natural forces.
The delicate beauty of nature is represented here through the delicacy of the composition/construction and chanting in contrast with its own rhytmic power in which man represented as the author or the listener itself is a mere messenger.
Excellent.
