Notes

Obi Strip Banner On Sleeve, released with paper clip.

Although "I'm Your Man" is listed as being 'Extended Stimulation' (as was the original 12" version), this version is truncated by approx 45 seconds, removing the banter between the male/female about the "magic car" (although the lyrics for this portion are included in the printed lyrics) - the intro has also been edited out.J-card insert: © 1986 CBS Inc. ℗ 1986 CBS Records
Cassette shell: ℗ 1984, 1985, 1986 CBS Records

Four-panel J-card insert with lyrics, credits, and photo.

The cassette shell has a repeating pattern of small squares in a grid and has gold printed text.

Another version has the same cassette shell but with silver text.
And another version has a shell with a horizontal line pattern and silver text.

A1 sounds pretty muddy on my copy of this, even though the other tracks are all perfectly clear. Is it like this on all masters of this album or was the Japanese label sent dodgy tapes?

Edit: OK, I've just listened to digital versions of the title track on both Music From... and The Final, and actually the master on this LP sounds better than those! I guess there's just a dense mix on the original recording, with all that brass, bass and ??organ smothering the drums and the vocals given a fair bit of reverb. Edit #2: apparently Elton John plays the piano on this?! Death by overdubs.
