Their first release since reforming after the original Come Organisation era, the Thank Your Lucky Stars EP showcases a new Whitehouse. As opposed to the ear shredding intensity of their earlier albums, here we are presented with a much more minimal approach, with less vocal distortion and more experimenting with new sounds. Another aspect found on this release that was absent from the previous efforts is songwriting, there's more rhythm, more melody, and an actual feeling of composition while still maintaining Whitehouses status as a noise group. A final new aspect is percussion, while not abundantly present on the album, many tracks feature their own unique percussion sounds. Examples include the title track, which has some edited drums placed way in the back that add quite a bit to the synth squeals and phaser effects. Another good example is the track "Still Going Strong", which has metal drums similar to those of Z'ev or Test Dept.

To summarize, Thank Your Lucky stars shows Whitehouses growth as musicians in the five years following the lackluster "Great White Death", and is a perfect predecessor to 1992's Twice is Not Enough, which buit upon the aspects heard on this EP and improved upon them.
