I love this original, stripped-down version just as much as the famous version by Animotion. It is just a great song.

In this era there really were no pop/dance songs which were so lyrically bold and direct about sexuality. For perhaps the first time, the language is barely coded. George Michael eventually one-upped it in 1987 with "I Want Your Sex", but until then, this song was about as hot as it got, with lines like: You're my obsession. I will find a way, and I will have you. Who do you want me to be to make you sleep with me?

And what's more, it's a duet in which the woman is not just expressing a yearning (rather than rebuffing the man), but she is also the more dominant one. This was unheard of back then. Even today it is fairly unique.
