A: Techno (Dark): Desperately brooding, menacing stuff. Starts off with some pretty tough, loopy industrial beats. It breaks down into a prolonged siren. The beats are reprised with some "monstrous" vocals. Then there's a passage of some solid straight techno before there's a further shift to a brilliant sections of echo bells. The best is left 'til last when a gorgeous but unsettling chord sequence is laid on top. (Think Mills' Metropolis). A real journey through different phases and a triumph because of it. IMO Surgeon's best work. [GOLDTEN]
B: Techno. Big industrial beats over what could almost be the drone of a vintage WWII bomber. The use of synths are too minimal and too buried in the mix until the final 10% that the track doesn't progress enough. A chance missed but the flip more than rewards you investment. [SEVEN]

excellent. without doubt the finest techno record of the year. influencial artists surgeon and regis take the birmingham scene forward once more with this blistering duo of harsh rhythmic pounders on the sometimes inconsistent downwards label. well thought out, melodic in parts and containing one of the hardest kick drums i have ever experienced, this track continues to excite me even though i have listened to it at least fifty times. buy it itmediately.
